Description

Inspired by a performer my friends and I saw at the San Diego Zoo over the summer, this girl was one of I believe two or three different performers spread around the Zoo in this same type of costume and doing similar actions. These "plantwomen" were dressed up in green outfits decked-out with tons and tons of leaves, while wearing stilts on their arms and parading around like creatures of sorts. One of the coolest things was that they would sort of "blend in" with different poles and signposts directing people to the various animal-focused sections of the Zoo. It was like a cross between pole-dancing and camaflouge. As soon as I saw the first one (we saw the first when we got there and the second as we were leaving) I was like "I gotta make a character like that or something!" which may never happen...especially if the Zoo holds ownership this concept. BUT, regardless, I wanted to do a piece inspired by them. It was a neat little experiment that actually took a bit longer than it looks, even with the little tricks that Flash assisted me in.

Also "Thornpricker" is an actual last name, which I find hilarious and awesome.

EDIT: Here's a video of one of them, apparantly they're around the Animal Kingdom Park in Disneyworld, too.

Neat!
The arms look a bit too long, though I suppose that's what you went for.
