TTA Halloween 2006 Costumes of DEATH :0
Alpha - As with last year, I wanted to go with Shanks for Alpha...WHAT? :B But yeah, as with most of them, I let the appropriate character bases choose what costume they wanted. Not long before I started working on the picture, Alpha chose Vash in his Maximum style from the Trigun manga, I believe, and honestly, I'm surprised I didn't think of Vash. It might've come across my mind at one point, but then I guess I forgot XD; I figured the ridiculous amount of details on the jacket would throw me off for him, but I think they actually turned out okay. Even the gun looks half-decent coming from me, and I usually suck with drawing ANY type of gun. Hope ya like it UC
Kirbopher - Went with CP9 agent Kaku from One Piece, since I've cosplayed as him in real life for the last two anime conventions I went to. I thought it'd be funny to wrap Kirb up in a suit, and he can barely breathe in it XD; The nose was inspired by a second Kaku cosplayer I saw at Otakon who has a strapped-nose on his face that actually kinda worked. Cailen opted for Tony Tony Chopper, which I would've been fine with, but I'd rather save that idea for another future pic, unrelated to Halloween :3
Flamegirl - Morrigan was prettymuch quintessential for Flamy, it seemed like. I came up with some other ideas, but some friends and I agreed on Morrigan eventually, and despite not playing Darkstalkers before, she also liked the choice of character. It was a similiar vein with the Rouge costume from last year, so I'm happy with this one. The pose was a little wonky, but I thought it was the most interesting one to go with from all of the ref pics I could find.
Gamecrazed - Ever heard of the Virtual Boy!? YEAH. THAT'S WHAT I THOUGHT. This one was SO much funner than the PS2 costume from last year, I even ended up sketching it out a couple additional times just for the hell of it. The helmet and goggles are part of the main console, and the quills on his back are made from the stand for the bottom. He also took a page from the Gamecrasher book and morphed his arm into the main controller. The Game Bros. are always fun to do Halloween designs for, because they're so easy
Nailock - This one I HAD to do. Partially at Prism and UC's suggestion for Nailock's Season 3 armor, it was based on Bowser to begin with. I like the style of this one, being kinda like a battle-ready slimmed-down Koopa King of DEATH. The part on his face is just a mask, and you can see the front section of the hair is seperated, so that the headband connecting his horns is in there, and the rest of the costume is a bodysuit. The kneecaps turned out kinda shite though >>;
Gamecrasher - As with Nailock, HAD to do this one. PSP was the first system that came to mind when coming up with other console costumes to go with for Crash...complete with Wigger-wear! Fancy chains, lotsa jewelry, O.M.A sunglasses and headband, and the twisted lower torso is a play on the ridiculously low shirts, and low-worn pants...because, yanno...that's the coolest thing in the world in the mind of mock-gangsters...BUT I'M NOT BITTER...*ahem*
Zetto - My first idea was a black-armored version of the newest Megaman (Ryuusei/Star Force), but that wasn't what I really wanted to go with. After getting some ideas from others, I realized "Oh! Yeah! Death Note is awesome!", and so Ryuk came into mind. This one didn't turn out as well as I hope, but thankfully most of him is unviewable due to being overlapped by others. Ha-ha! I liked how the face looks though, with the cosplay contacts, the makeup and uneccasary heart-earing. He still has his metal arm, but its hard to see.
Ruri - She was trying to come up with some good ideas for costumes, but couldn't decide on a definitive choice, so I went with Sloth, since she cosplayed her for Otakon. Quit smexily might I add :3 Had some good reference for this one, since I had the official character sheet. The dripping bang could've been better, and the arms could've been better, but other than that I'm happy with it.
