TTA Extra differences III

As a little extra to all TTA fans, I have here a list of some interesting things. As some of you may not know, TTA was originally supposed to be a “comic” that UC and I were going to be making back in the Tvtome days. I had every single chapter planned out, however we never really got around to it. Then I eventually decided to make it into a flash movie series after at first wanting to make a “game” out of it in flash…that idea was bombed. So instead, I gathered up all of the stuffage I had about TTA, and made the story a bit different for when I started making the series. Instead of following it directly like the chapter list I made, I sort of changed things around a bit to make it MUCH better, as you’ll soon see the differences between the old story, the new story and what REALLY happened on Tvtome. I did this with Seasons 1 and 2, now here's Season 3!:

-Ruri's appearance in the original story was EXTREMELY brief around the end of the season. Obviously during the time I wrote the season back on TvTome, I wasn't going out with her.

-The Shadow Users ended up being a HUGE concept for the season, and I had only come up with the idea for them around the beginning of 2006, a little before Season 3 started production. They were the first of the many, MANY derivative ideas of the Season's story, in this case being a reference to the Megaman.EXE anime, where the "Asteroids" or eventually the "Zoanaroids" (the 'roid' part being like the Reploids from the X series for instance) were essentially new/alternate versions of prexisting characters from the series, with no memory of their past life. They were used to test humanity for Duo's plans of Earth Erasure, and they were a LOT more intelligent than the Shadow Users from TTA...with the exception of Shadow Alpha and Zetto.

-The Ranks of Sanctuary was another idea derived from Megaman, the video games in this case. In Megaman Battle Network 3 (three, imagine that) for GBA, there were a group of 10 NAVIs called the "Ranks of the Undernet", and that was prettymuch the same type of concept, except in this case I had it as a team battle of 7 vs 7. Serenade, of whom Motherboard was based on, was the #1 rank of the Undernet.

-In the original story, Anidoug made his FIRST appearance in Season 3, showing up immediately after Alpha makes his surprising return. He's just a normal user in this case, without the majority of his shadow powers, and loses against Alpha very quickly. I was always planning on having his role in the story YOU guys know (which was going to e the "games" at the time, which I never ended up making) being much bigger.

-If I'm not mistaken, PaperAceChase ALSO made his first appearance in Season 3, as opposed to him being long since introduced as a moderator like in the flash movies. Other than that, his role as the leader of the ranks was prettymuch the same.

-Disgustingly enough...Sk8rboi ended up being a main character that traveled with Alpha's group into the Sanctuary region to fight against the Ranks. Gamecrasher filled that void that I ripped Sk8 out of, except for one scene where he's bitten by the D-Bug dragon and transformed into "Omega" the demon...ugh...

-Torben also makes his first appearance in this season originally, as a pseudo-good guy almost! I remember he was going around collecting data on various users, looking for details on the Kagemamoru incident, and eventually revealed himself to be part of another group, led by Kalasu Angel, and included others such as Shogun (also making his first appearance), where they were set on stopping the infection of the viruses that had spread throughout TOME.

-The Ranks of Sanctuary's numbers went like this: 7: Orbit, 6: Darkblazer, 5: Kinetix, 4: Dikayes, 3: MysteryX, 2: Kalasu Angel (GASP) and 1: PaperAceChase.

-Orbit's ball game was the same as it was before, still playing on the joke of Megaman Soccer, but Sk8rboi originally fought him. Darkblazer's game originally was about putting OUT fires, which Flamy had some trouble with in the story. Kinetix was the same, minus the smokes and gases (that was a later idea) and it still helped set up for when GC was to be eventually taken away...but not by the Purple Flame. Dikayes' game was gone, but Kirbopher had to find him in a crowd of people, since he was originally supposed to be like a "snobby" character who was extremely popular. MysteryX's game was gone too, and when he had shown that he couldn't defeat Alpha, Kalasu stepped in, finished off MysteryX and took over the rest of the fight as Rank #2. Nailock fought PAC later in the final match.

-AKAKK was originally character I was going to put in Season 1 of all things, but he didn't make it into the series at all, in any form. Alpha really liked his character, so I eventually decided to include him in Season 3 as Rank #3. When the movies were in production, I was gonna end up having 6 Ranks instead, but I wanted 7, so I added AKAKK to their side, and had Ruri join up with Alpha and company to fill their missing slot.

-I don't think Dustbunny was in the original story at all, from what I can remember...

The D-Bug Dragon showed up around the end of the season, in the same way it did in the movies. Kirbopher reaches 11111 EXP, slices the numbers, and OMG PLOT DEVICE...the dragon pops out and chaos ensues as Kirb is stuck in the thing's head.

-Since the Purple Flame didn't end up being what it was in the first story, Giga the brat hacker shows up again, now with his golden cloak, and gives GC his new character model to help out in the battle. However, GC's Redemption form ended up not being as big of a plot-oriented thing as it was in the movies. This setup was placed there in the beginning simply because GC wanted a humanoid form.

-After the Ranks of Sanctuary section is done, the Motherboard404 part began, of course. Kagemamoru was brought back in order to be a weapon agains the D-Bug Dragon, which was on its way to directly infecting Motherboard. The D-Bug transforms into its "Super Form" after fusing with Motherboard's central Super Computer, and the final battle began. So it was kind of like a cross between the 'final boss battles' of both Season 2 AND 3.

-The final "chapter" of the comic, after the fight was done, was going to take place completely in real life, where all of the main characters meet up with one another and just have a day to hang out, again reflecting on all of the things that've happened in the story. I didn't go with this idea for the end of Season 3 because 1) I wanted to make a Season 4 by that time, and 2) it didn't feel like it would fit in with the series by that point.

-Phaxal and Phetus were not in the original story. Phetus was made for some extra comedy, and Phaxal I kind of just went with as I got through the episodes. I think his inclusion into the story has actually helped a lot though, as you'll see for Season 4.

-The fight against Kagetou in Epiosde 072 was always planned for when I started working on the new story for the flash movies, but one extremely big difference was that the episode with Kagetou's first appearance was never even PLANNED from the beginning. I felt that having him appear in an earlier point would be a much better setup than just "Oh by the way, here's another piece of Kagemamoru that we stupidly decided to use as a guardian for Motherboard." Interestingly enough, since this was back when the BIG Kagemamoru from Episode 030 was just callled "The Virus", the 'melded-to-the-ground' version of Kagetou that Alpha fought was originally going to have the name "Kagemamoru". After deciding to give the virus as a whole that Japanese name, Kagetou eventually evolved into something a lot more important.
Fans might be interested in this.

EDIT: Added two more notes at the end about Phaxal, Phetus and Kagetou.
