Yes, ANOTHER Pokemon fanart, god what is wrong with me.
BUT, this is different. This one's in tribute to the incredibly awesome manga series Pokemon Adventures (Pocket Monsters Special in Japan). Seriously, even people who aren't incredibly enveloped in Pokemon can enjoy the art and storytelling the creative duo behind this series brought. The original creator and the game's producer both felt like this was "the comic that most resembles the world I was trying to convey!" and they want "every Pokemon fan to read this comic!". The first seven graphic novels were released, they're a bit hard to find but worth every cent if you can track 'em down.
So pictured here NOT, in fact Ash, Gary and a couple random people. These characters are Red the hero with a bit of a better head on his shoulders than Ketchum, Blue (Green in Japan) the cool-headed rival who's much less of a braggart than Gary Oak, Yellow the amarillo caballero who can understand Pokemons' thoughts and Green (Blue in Japan) the only spicey lil' bitchosaurus who can get anyone in Kanto to believe a bold-faced lie (best character ever). I love all of these characters and the story they go through. I wish the later volumes based on the following generations were released here, one can always dream.
So for this one I wasn't sure if I was gonna include any other Pokemon, but once I added Pikachu to Yellow's back in place of a Pokeball like the others were holding, I figured why not give 'em their appropriate starter? I tried to stay true to their designs but take a few liberties as per the usual. I made sure to keep their corresponding color schemes and line them up with the background as well. For skin tones I tried to get creative. Usually with anime characters I, admittedly, go with a bit of a yellower tone since most of them time the characters are Japanese. However, Blue looks and seems like she could be American, so I peached her out a bit and Yellow I gave a slight tan to since she's supposed to be a caballero. The one thing that I couldn't get down was Blue's arm holding up the Pokeball up front. I tried a few different positions and settled on that one but it still looks weird. Ah well.
Anyway, any comments would be appreciated. Be sure to check this comic out if you get the oppourtunity.
The character designs look close to their originals, except that Red's and Yellow's skin color seem a bit out their, even for their heritage, other than that, I don't see any problems with it, great job Kirb.

Personally I think Red would make a better main character than Ash. Green was badass and a bit more serious than Gary was. Blue sure was a bitch, but she still kicked ass. And Yellow is freaking adorable. I love all of her little quirks. >w<
Keep up the good work, dude; I love your style~
