'Cuz why not? Decided to use images of the influences that I had drawn fanart for, mostly. There's a few I haven't done fanart for quite yet. Probably missed a few things that are big deals for me, but here's a bunch of 'em.

JUSTICE LEAGUE - DC Superheroes workin' together, but specifically the Justice League series heralded by the Animation team that worked on all of the other great show equivalents had some of my favorite episode plots and an amazing mix of heroes and villains.

BANJO-KAZOOIE - Rareware makes some really cool worlds and equally cool characters to go with them, but Banjo's expansive world was my favorite. I swear I feel like I've been to places in my dreams that were designed by Rare sometimes.

MARIO - Specifically Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, which had the absolute most staying power with me. All of the neat little quirks with the story, the interesting characters and locations, they still continue to inspire me today.

MEGAMAN - All of the Megaman series as a whole, though Battle Network was really up my alley for some reason as far as visuals go. Rock's got everything I find interesting in a hero and whether it's him, or sometimes him and Roll, against the whole world, he does pretty well for himself.

POKEMON - An embarrassing one that had a lot of influence on my LIFE as opposed to simply on my art, it'll never die and I guess I've accepted that by now. I find Pikachu to be a really iconic character and I hold undying respect for Satoshi Tajiri for being the lucky millionaire he is to've made a concept with such staying power.

ANIMANIACS - As far as comedy goes, Animaniacs is my favorite without a doubt. I realize years later that Yakko is my favorite, where he was my least favorite when I was a kid. But now I find his whole shtick incredibly amusing. I got plenty of episodes left to see when I get back to school; thank god for boxsets.

SCOTT PILGRIM - This one I'm mildly bitter about, especially after seeing the Movie, because this is more than anything the animated series I've wanted to do all my life: realistic characters in a totally unrealistic, exaggerated world. Bryan O'Malley succeeded prior to me in this day and age, but if anything it gives me hope that people can appreciate this kind of stuff. That said, I really love his extremely relatable characters.

DRAGONBALL - I'll defend this show until the end of time, it's a genuinely good series with real heart to it; I feel like Kai is the opportunity to show that once and for all. Considering Akira Toriyama's situation of "MAKE US MORE WE WANT MONEY AGGGH" and how huge it turned out after all of the crap he went through, he's got my undying respect alongside Tajiri. Speaking of, along with Pokemon, DBZ was my "gateway" anime and I still love it to this day, screaming monkey-people and all.

LOONEY TUNES - Obviously all of the Looney Tunes characters and shorts are influential to cartoonists, but they were incredibly intriguing to me as a kid. I was lucky they ran in syndication on Nickelodeon and eventually Cartoon Network when I was still a toddler, so they stuck with me for a long time. Taz was always my hero.

AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER - Similar to Scott Pilgrim, this was a show I was deathly afraid would be too much like my series and I'd be screwed over. Thankfully, it was far different enough to stand on its own and I fell in love with it soon after. Really excited about the sequel show.

YUYU HAKUSHO - Getting back into this show again recently, GOD it's hilarious. Justin Cook really made this thing somethin' special when they brought this gem over to the US. It was really a big influence on my interest in acting and writing character dialogue more than anything, although it also sparked some interest with demons and apparitions in cartoons.

you sure that chrono trigger did not have any influence, i mean look at TOMEs element system: light/lighting, fire, wind, water/ice, darkness.
i know it could be a coincidence, but still i am curious

Since you said Yakko's your favorite, I can't help but ask: Have you listened to Rob Paulsen's Podcast, Talkin' Toons, where he interviews the big names in the Voice Acting and Animation Industries? He updates every week, and does his part to support the community however he can, like his recent Charity episode for Hurricane Sandy.

Cool influences! Especially Megaman Battle Network! That's my favorite game series, who defiantly needs more love.

Why was Taz your hero? He's usually the villain with the exception of Taz-Mania.
